Bowel movement tracker for Android
Your bowel history, made simple.
A free, private bowel movement tracker for Android. Log with the Bristol Stool Scale in seconds, review your history and see simple summaries. No account.
Gut Elements is a bowel movement tracker for Android. Some people call it a poop tracker, a stool tracker or a bowel diary app: it is a simple place to record each bowel movement using the Bristol Stool Scale and look back at your history.
Now on Google Play: Gut Elements is available for Android phones. It is free, with no account required.
Choose a type. Save a record.
Select one of seven Bristol stool types and save. The current date and time fill in automatically; adjust them if you are recording an earlier bowel movement. There is no mandatory account registration.
Your history, organised by date
Review records in a calendar or list. You can edit the type and time of an entry, delete an individual entry, or delete all logs from Settings. Record bowel movements that occurred; there is no streak to maintain.
Simple summaries, without medical interpretations
Review the number of recorded entries, stool-type distribution and most common types over seven, thirty or ninety days. The app also shows the share of entries recorded as Types 3–4.
These summaries describe your logs, not a diagnosis or a complete measurement of your bowel habits. An unlogged day does not prove that no bowel movement occurred.

Local records, with clear limitations
The app stores your logs on your device. It has no account or cloud synchronization, and Android cloud backup and device transfer are disabled. Anonymous usage stats are sent only if you allow them, and never include what you log. The app is free with light, non-personalised ads from Google, which never see your logs; a one-time purchase removes them.
There is no export or backup in the current version. Uninstalling, clearing app data or losing the device can mean losing your records. We cannot recover them. Read the app privacy policy before relying on the app for long-term history.
What is—and is not—available
The tracker has no paywall. Core logging, history and simple summaries are free, with light ads. The only purchase is an optional one-time "Remove ads"; there is no subscription. Reminders, downloadable reports, export, backup and synchronization are not implemented in this version. Any future premium features will be explained separately.
Android release availability
Gut Elements is available on Google Play for Android 8.0 and later. There is no iPhone version.

Tracking is not medical advice
Gut Elements does not diagnose conditions, recommend treatment or replace care from a qualified healthcare professional. Do not use its summaries to make treatment decisions. See the medical disclaimer.
Questions about the bowel movement tracker
Is Gut Elements available for Android or iPhone?
Gut Elements is available for Android on Google Play. There is no iPhone version available.
Is the bowel tracker free?
Yes. Core logging, history and simple summaries are free, with light, non-personalised ads that never appear on the logging screen. An optional one-time purchase removes the ads. There is no subscription.
Do I need an account to keep a bowel diary?
No. The current app does not require registration. It keeps records locally rather than in an account or cloud profile. The website has separate analytics practices; see website privacy.
Can I use it as a constipation or IBS diary?
You can use it to keep a record of when you have bowel movements and which Bristol stool type each one was, which many people track alongside constipation, loose motions or IBS. It does not record food, symptoms or medication, and it does not diagnose IBS, constipation or any other condition. If your doctor has asked for a food or symptom diary, use their form or a notebook alongside the app.
What can I record in the app?
You can record a Bristol stool type and the date and time of a bowel movement. The current app does not have fields for food, symptoms or medication, and does not interpret an entry as a diagnosis.
Can I export or recover my bowel diary?
Not in the current version. There is no export, cloud backup or device transfer. Uninstalling, clearing app data or losing access to your phone can mean losing your records. We cannot recover them; read app privacy before relying on the diary as your only record.
Does a blank day mean I had no bowel movements?
No. A blank day means there are no saved entries for that day. It does not establish whether no bowel movement occurred or a record was missed. Summaries describe recorded logs, not a complete measurement of bowel habits.
Start with a useful record
